It all began with Pumpkin Pie

12 years ago...just 2 months after getting married, I made pumpkin pies with a girl I'd just met in the NAU young married ward in Flagstaff, in her little studio apartment/dorm room. 12 years later, I consider her a better, dearer friend than I did back then. And...as an example of how awesome she is...she flew up here to Seattle last weekend for the most incredible Girls Weekend EVER!! I love you Carol!

P.S. The following pictures are NOT approved by Carol :)

Movie Night 1996

Carol's surprise b-day party: 10 Dec 1997

I stole these Seattle pics from Carol. We WALKED all through downtown Seattle, shopping, going to movies, shopping...

Here are some funky robes from our hotel...

Poor Carol - I was scared to be doing a lot of this without Chris, but we managed to get the car on a ferry across the Sound from Seattle toward the Peninsula then back down around the Sound again toward my house.

We tried SO many time to get a shot of Mt. Rainier before Carol left, and this is the one she got from her plane back to AZ.

Until next year...

Thank You Hydee

Thanks to Hydee for trying to figure out my 'comments' issue. I'll probably just start a new blog in January that will hopefully have everything working. You are all welcome to email me anytime though!

P.S.
I just LOVE Mr. Darcy! Thanks Hydee!!

comments for carlie

Hello, all, this is Hydee, Carlie's friend who is trying to fix her blog's stubborn comment problem. For some reason, the link to her comments refuses to show itself, but if you click on the post time at the end of her post, you can leave her a comment. Now we can all tell her how amazing she is and how cool her kids are! Oh, yeah, and how much we like "Mr. Darcy" just the way he is.

Carlie, feel free to dump this post and put up your own instructions for everyone. =)

I tried!!!

Yes...I am Incredible!

One last Halloween 'Ho rah'. The OITE is over so one of the Ortho guys threw a bash. Thanks to the Hakes, we sported our 3rd costume of the season and went as the Incredibles.

Enough Already! Back Off!

Okay...the title isn't nice, but neither is what I have to say. (Chris isn't going to like this post...but I believe I need to show my muscle once in a while to shake things up). Anyway...two complaints of late about Chris and I'm up in arms. He leaves before 5:00am and gets home on a normal night around 6:00pm. That doesn't include anatomy nights, journal nights, nights on call, etc...he's been studying for the OITE and working with the scouts for his calling. He rarely has two seconds to himself and when he does, I send him off to play soccer where he comes back injured and in a cast. To top that all off, two people had the audacity to criticize his less then hospitable demeanor. He's Mr. Darcy people!! When will you all get that through your heads?? He's where he should be, doing what he should do for those who matter most. What else should we ask for?

Rollar Derby...I mean skating

Our good friends the Warrens, who went to medical school with us and are originally from Lacey, had a b-day party for their kids who share b-days two days apart at a local skating rink. It was SO much fun. I literally can't remember the last time I went skating. The kids loved it, and unfortunately because of Chris's old man injury, he couldn't skate with us.

Madigan Mornings

Monday, Wednesday and Friday Mornings we leave just after (hopefully) 7:30 or so to head to Madigan (Madigan Army Medical Center for those of you NOT in the know!!) for Bailey's light therapy treatment in 'the booth' for her psoriasis. We decided to document our morning trips once daylight savings started so there would be enough light to take pictures. Bailey is the photographer by the way...I cannot take pictures and drive simultaneously...I have many talents, but that is not one of them.
This is the street leaving our house.

This is down toward the freeway. The next few pics are from the freeway.

Here's the main gate where we have to show military ID to 'pass' through. FYI: I believe that vehicle profiling exists because I have personally been pulled over 5 times to have my vehicle inspected. Once the guard even apologized to me by name. "I'm sorry Mrs. Hills. We need to inspect your vehicle this morning." Sad...very sad!

Bailey HAD to have a picture of Mt. Rainier. It honestly can't be captured in picture. It's stunning in person.
A fighter jet just off the freeway as we leave base and head south toward home and school.

Happy Halloween

The kids got so much candy this year we donated two grocery bags to Chris's cast clinic. (Or something else in the hospital).

Brody's 7th Birthday

Brody had a Star Wars Birthday this year...I was in heaven! I love, love, LOVE Star Wars! We watched Return of the Jedi, ate, ate, ate, and played a little. He scored a Millennium Falcon, more action figures, and some cold hard cash. He also opted for donuts instead of a cake, which was fine by me.

FYI: He's purposely crossing his eyes...he doesn't usually look that retarded.
Brody took these pictures. Kyle had a Millennium Falcon just like this when we were growing up and we would play for hours with it. Only...I had the little Barbies that were like Polly Pockets. "Good times, good times."

Drop me a note!
