Supercross!!!

I don't know who was more excited to go to the Supercross this past weekend in Seattle, the boys...or Chris!




Braden LOVED it! He wouldn't sit down he was so excited. The more noise there was, the more he'd start moving around.


There was a huge line of, (of course), boys & men to get their picture taken with the "Monster" girls. I was standing next to the line getting my camera out so I could take a picture of Braden next to a dirt bike near by when he decided to cut the entire line and walk up to the girls. I had no idea any of it was happening until I hear one of the girls say, "Oh! How cute! Someone take a picture." Brody decided he wanted in, and Chris threw Brooklyn in the picture to keep things on the level!!

Preschool Graduation

I've been part of a 4 kid preschool co-op all year for Brooklyn. Between field trips, letter, number & writing lessons, I made an executive decision: I'm done. It's time for graduation. We had a big graduation lunch with movie re-cap of the year. I think the kids had a good time. It's been a great school year. I'm SO glad we're done!

Our "Spring" Break

The kids desperately wanted to go swimming during their Spring Break. The only way to do that was to find an inside pool...so we spent a night in Seattle and took the kids swimming & hot tubbing for two days. They loved it!

Mom's draggin' these days. With snow, I have officially hit the end of my winter rope...so we keep 'happy' by having lots of hot chocolate. I've also let Brooklyn do her hair, wash and blowdry, all by herself. Braden also lost a fight with a train track.

Sun Breaks

When we first moved here, we kept hearing, "There will be sun breaks today." Coming from Arizona, I thought that was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard! After 4 years, I understand what a novelty having the sun break through the clouds can be. Thus...we had sun breaks this week!!

The Stuff We're Made Of

Well...I have to admit that I was a little involved in my book one afternoon and when I checked in on Braden and Brooklyn they were completely enthralled with Enchanted, Brooklyn's new favorite movie.

I also have to admit to the chagrin of my mother, that when Chris was on call and Bailey was at soccer, I decided to make Lipton noodles for dinner. My kids usually like them, but weren't all that excited about them this time. They had to eat their noodles (and grapes!!) before they could get chocolate pudding for dessert. Brooklyn was having the hardest time finishing hers. She doesn't really eat anyway, but I sat and watched her for nearly 20 minutes give herself a peptalk to finish her food. "Chocolate is good."..."I like chocolate."..."The whipcream will probably be good." In between each little comment she would try to choke down a bite of food. I think she found the chocolate worth it!

Campout

Chris was asked to help the boys in our ward on an overnight hike/campout. Chris took Brody who had the time of his life & did a stellar job. Chris ended up carrying two backpacks (one of the young men and his dad brought a propane heater, tank, a gallon of water & extra boots that they couldn't manage). The next day at Church the mother of the boy thanked Chris for helping her family, and asked Brody if he had a good time. He emphatically said, "yes!". Brooklyn complained that she didn't get to go and the mother said, "That's okay, it wasn't fun. They didn't have a good time." We felt bad the boys didn't enjoy it, but had to laugh, because we've actually done that hike as a family. I was proud of Brody for not complaining.
