Chris and I were asked to be tour guides at the Reopening of the Atlanta Temple.
Scouts...(the picture is hideous, and was taken with a phone; hence the glowing eyes).
I was asked to organize a community service project for our Ward. In conjunction with First Presbyterian Church here in Columbus, we cleared and cleaned a courtyard for a local school.
I was asked to organize a Primary for children ages 3-8 years who were unable to attend the Atlanta Temple Rededication with their families. I had children from my ward, the Auburn, Alabama Ward, and another branch in our Stake.
I kid you not...these pictures were not set up. Brooklyn and her good friend dressed up and were "teaching" from the Book of Mormon. I'm not sure the MTC would approve of their attire - they've a way to go if they're going to pass as Sister Missionaries!!
After two years of being assigned to the Birmingham, Alabama Temple, the Atlanta Temple was reopened after extensive renovations. I have NEVER been so excited to see the inside of a Temple before. Chris and I had the privilege to see two of our friends be sealed in the Atlanta Temple over 12 years ago. We hadn't been back until the day we went through the open house with our kids.
At our last Fall Stake Conference, we were challenged as a Stake to learn and memorize all 13 Articles of Faith. I spoke at that particular Conference, Chris left for Afghanistan, and I was called to be Primary President all in about two weeks time. So, after being in Primary for several weeks and seeing what these kids were truly capable of, I put the challenge to Primary, and six months later, we invited our Stake President to come visit and to test the kids on their knowledge. Even my awesome Sunbeams could quote all 13. President Stewart was so fun, and so incredibly endearing. Here he's making funny faces with the kids.
